Marian Lucia is the co-chair of WIT's 2007 Women of the Year in Technology Awards.  This gala event recognizes the innumerable contributions women have made to the technology industry and our state.  Lucia and co-chair, Tricia Dempsey are responsible for headling up a team of volunteers who gather nominations, oversee the judging, coordinate the promotion and presentation of the gala awards dinner.

Lucia serves as the Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta.  Prior to joining the Bank, Lucia served as Corporate Vice President, Operations and Systems, of Prudential Institutional where she reported to the CEO of Prudential Institutional and had responsibilities for technology, call centers, and service operations for the Retirement Services, Group Insurance and Disability and Prudential Real Estate and Relocation businesses.  As Chief Information Officer of Prudential Investments in Newark, New Jersey, Lucia had responsibilities for technology driving the Asset Management businesses including Investment Management, Real Estate Asset Management, Retirement Services, Mutual Funds and Annuities.  Lucia also served previously as a Principal Managing Director of Technology at Bear Stearns and Company, Inc., and as Vice President of Technology with Merrill Lynch.  Her earlier background included technology management positions at Texas Commerce Bank in Houston and Bank of Oklahoma in Tulsa.

A native of Pittsburgh, Lucia earned a bachelor's degree in computer science with honors from Pennsylvania State University, and a master's of science in business administration from Robert Morris University.  She serves on the Advisory Board of Pennsylvania State University's Women in Science and Engineering and Gwinnett Technical College's CIS Program.  She was nominated for the Woman of the Year Award from Women in Technology, and the Turknett Leadership Character Award and was named CIO of the Year in 2005 by the GCLA.  Lucia previously served on the boards of the Newark Emergency Services for Families in Newark, New Jersey, and the American Repertory Ballet in Princeton, New Jersey;  she currently serves on the Board of the YWCA of Greater Atlanta, the Georgia CIO Leadership Association, the Information Management Forum and is on CIO Magazine's Executive Council.
