Women in Technology (WIT), the leading association committed to the development of Georgia's businesswomen in the technology industry, is calling for sponsors for the WIT Connect '08 event being held in the Spring of 2008.  Heather Rocker, WIT Executive Director, made the announcement stating, "Community support for WIT Connect '08 is what keeps us running.  WIT is able to offer premier programs that benefit both men and women in the technology industry using the proceeds from WIT Connect.  Without our sponsors, the event could not sustain our efforts.  Every year, we've been able to grow and serve even more members of the technology community, all thanks to WIT Connect."

About WIT Connect

The longest running event in the technology industry began as a fashion show and auction, Re-engineering Style, in 1995.  Now entering its 14th year, WIT Connect has brought together more than 1,000 executives using its unique auction format.  Technology leaders volunteer to have lunch with the highest bidder; some meetings have resulted in relationships that had economic benefit for both parties, others have had less tangible benefits.

All the resulting relationships have benefited the technology community as the proceeds from the auction support the programs of WIT and the WIT Foundation.  WIT works to accelerate the careers of women in our industry through educational meetings, executive coaching, mentoring, and seminars.  The WIT Foundation focuses on the next generation of Women in Technology, with programs to interest young women and girls in careers in technology.  Through the foundation, hundreds of girls and young women have received scholarships and participated in programs like WIT on Track and Girls Get IT.
