2007 Winners 2007 WIT's Women of the Year in Technology winners were announced at the awards dinner held on April 26, 2007 at the TWELVE Atlantic Station. The awards gala was the place to be in the technology industry as we celebrated the success of all our nominees and recognized the outstanding contributions of winners in three categories:
These categories reflect the continuous enhancement of the award program and recognize the unique challenges, opportunities and achievements of women in each type of business environment.
2007 Winner - Enterprise Organization
Marie Mouchet is vice president and chief information officer for Southern Company Generation and chief information officer for Southern Nuclear and Southern Power, where she leads the development and implementation of IT strategy and operations across the generation business. Her role provides strategic and tactical planning and direction for new plant acquisitions, new nuclear plant developments, a real-time trading floor and the engineering and construction organization. Mouchet has served in leadership positions within Southern Company for more than 25 years, and has experience across all Southern Company business lines, including regulatory, financial services, public relations, marketing, sales and generation. In her roles, she has led the development of organizational structures, established and revised business processes and developed and implemented strategies. Mouchet holds a bachelor's degree in mathematics and a master's degree in mathematics education from Georgia State University. She serves on the community awareness committee for the board of directors of Sheltering Arms Child Development. She has been a mentor in the Georgia 100 program and participated in several Southern Company leadership programs. In 2004, she was selected by the International Women's Forum as one of 14 women worldwide to participate in the Leadership Foundation Program, an internationally acclaimed training and personal development program.
2007 Winner - Mid-Market/Medium Organization
Terry Trout brings more than 25 years of leadership experience to her role as vice president of customer experience for Cbeyond at which she is responsible for customer care, service delivery, technical support, collections and operations training. Previously, in her role as vice president of corporate communications, Terry led the development of CbeyondOnline, an online account management tool that simplifies bill payment and gives customers complete control of their account. She also launched Cbeyond's community service program enabling Cbeyond employees to give back to the communities where they work and live. Prior to joining Cbeyond, Terry was vice president of marketing communications for Intermedia Communications, an integrated communications provider. Previously, she was vice president of East Coast operations and corporate marketing for Marcone Appliance Parts Center, the nation's fastest-growing distributor of repair parts. In this role, Terry helped lead the company's start-up, acquisition and restructuring initiatives. Terry has been honored by the following awards: 1st 6 time winner of General Electric's Standard of Excellence Award, Maytag's Legacy Award for Customer Service, and a 2nd time winner of the Whirlpool Award of Excellence.
2007 Winner - Emerging/Small Organization
Anna came to Nexidia from Jacada Inc, the world's leading provider of legacy integration and web-to-host solutions where she held the position of Vice President of Marketing. During her 7-year tenure with Jacada, Anna was instrumental in establishing business development and worldwide marketing functions as well as helping prime Jacada for a successful IPO in October 1999. Prior to Jacada, Anna served as Marketing Director for Unibol, in both the United States and throughout Europe. Anna is a graduate of IBM's EMEA FastTrack program and has held various Sales and Marketing positions with the IBM Corporation. Anna holds a BA (Hons.) Business Studies from the University of Ulster, Belfast Northern Ireland; a L.de M (Masters) International Business Studies from the Universite Louvain la Neuve, Brussels, Belgium; and professional accreditations in the areas of export marketing, market research and marketing management.
